EXTENDED RETURNS UNTIL JAN 5 2026

RingPay has expanded direct bank compatibility in Hungary: CIB Bank customers can now link their RingPay payment ring straight to eligible CIB Visa and Mastercard cards using Fidesmo’s tokenisation platform—removing the need to route payments through a Curve account.

This is a meaningful step for everyday “tap-to-pay” wearables. For users, it simplifies setup (fewer apps and intermediaries), while still keeping the security model that underpins modern contactless payments: tokenisation, where real card details aren’t exposed during transactions.

What changes for CIB customers (and what doesn’t)

Before: Many wearable-payment setups rely on an intermediary wallet account (often Curve) to connect a wearable to a bank card.

Now (for CIB): CIB cardholders can pair directly through Fidesmo or the RingPay smartphone app, enabling quick contactless payments once activated.

Still true: The ring remains a lightweight, everyday wearable built around contactless NFC payments, designed to work anywhere contactless terminals are accepted.

A dedicated Hungarian site: ringpay.hu

RingPay operates a separate website for the Hungarian market at ringpay.hu, created so Hungarian customers can access local-language information and purchase RingPay wearables directly.

The site also positions RingPay’s Hungarian rollout as part of a broader push to make wearable payments more accessible and mainstream in the country.

Building availability across Hungary: banks, retailers, and wider distribution

RingPay’s direction in Hungary is clear: expand availability beyond early adopters by working with banks (to enable direct card-linking like the new CIB support) and with retail and distribution partners so payment rings and other contactless payment wearables can be widely available across the country. Recent announcements frame bank integrations as key milestones in that expansion.

Partnerships: who to contact
