RingPay Comes to Monzo
Monzo customers will shortly be able to pay with a RingPay payment ring. Support for the Monzo Mastercard is arriving in the RingPay app in the coming weeks, meaning the UK's biggest digital bank joins the growing list of cards that can be added to RingPay's range of payment rings and bracelets.
It's a natural pairing. Monzo customers were early adopters of contactless, mobile and wearable payments, and RingPay brings them the simplest way to pay of all — a Zirconia ceramic ring that never needs charging, never runs out of battery and is always on your hand.
How it works
Adding a Monzo card takes a couple of minutes in the RingPay app:
- Open the RingPay app and choose 'Add card'
- Select Monzo and enter your card details
- Approve the request in your Monzo app
- Tap your ring to activate — and you're ready to pay
Behind the scenes, your Monzo card is tokenised through RingPay's partnership with Fidesmo, the secure tokenisation platform used by banks across Europe. Your actual card number is never stored on the ring. Instead, a unique digital token is written to a secure chip inside the ceramic band, so your card details stay protected even if the ring is lost — and a lost ring can be frozen instantly from the app, without affecting your Monzo card itself.
Once set up, the ring works anywhere contactless payments are accepted: tap your hand on the terminal and go. No phone, no wallet, no battery, no charging. Every transaction appears instantly in your Monzo feed, exactly as it does today, with all your usual Monzo budgeting tools, notifications and controls applying as normal.
Made for how Monzo customers live
RingPay's rings and bracelets are designed for the moments when carrying a phone or wallet is a nuisance — the gym, the pool, a run, a festival, the school drop-off, or just popping out for coffee. The ring is waterproof, has nothing to charge and nothing to lose down the back of the sofa.
The range spans minimalist black ceramic rings and a growing collection of gemstone bracelets, including tiger eye, lava stone and rose quartz designs, so there's a style for every wrist and every hand. An AI-powered ring sizer in the app makes finding the perfect fit as simple as taking a photo.
Exclusive offers for Monzo cardholders
To mark the launch, RingPay will be introducing a range of special exclusive offers for Monzo cardholders over the coming months. Details will be announced soon, but Monzo customers can expect launch pricing on selected rings and bracelets, early access to new designs, and seasonal promotions created just for them.
Monzo customers who want to be first in line can subscribe at ringpay.com to be notified the moment Monzo support goes live and the first offers drop.
